Campo nell'Elba is a large municipality that includes some of the most important and well-known seaside resorts on the entire island. Among these are Cavoli, Fetovaia, Seccheto (which we will discuss in the section dedicated to beaches), and Marina di Campo, which we will focus on below.
Marina di Campo is one of the most beautiful towns on the Island of Elba, a small and charming pearl nestled on the shores of the Tyrrhenian Sea that is absolutely worth a visit. Founded at the beginning of the 20th century, it evolved from a small settlement of fishermen and farmers to a modern-day resort. It has become a welcoming and charming town, visited every year by thousands of tourists from all over the world. Among the most important attractions for the international tourism that has literally overwhelmed the island in recent decades are the lovely golden sandy beaches that extend for over two kilometers at the foot of the town and the large areas located around the center, full of charming ravines. Close to the coastline lies a lush pine forest, perfect for ensuring a bit of relaxation during the hottest hours of the day. It is also here that the most popular residential area has developed. Marina di Campo's exclusive resort, consisting of residences, hotels, and delightful private villas immersed in nature.
This splendid coastal town offers visitors nothing: the narrow streets and alleys of the village are full of restaurants offering excellent local cuisine, enhanced by meat and fish dishes. Shops, elegant boutiques, and artisan workshops abound.
The historic center is The town developed around the Marina di Campo Tower, a coastal tower built in the 16th century by the Spanish, who equipped much of their coastal territory with garrisons to anticipate potential enemy incursions.
During the summer season, there is no shortage of events and entertainment opportunities, organized by the municipal administration and private individuals. Beautiful and charming like few other towns on the Tuscan coast, Marina di Campo offers a stunning sea, entertainment for all tastes, wonderful facilities, and enviable beaches.
How to get to the beach
The Marina di Campo beach extends right behind the town and occupies the entire southern part of the gulf overlooking the town. It is very easy to reach, even on foot, and is easily accessible. It's ideal for families with children, given its proximity to the town center and the hotel and residence area. Furthermore, the beach is made of very fine sand and the seabed slopes very gently. In some spots, even more than fifty meters from the shore, it's possible to swim, walk, and play in water that doesn't go above waist height. Marina di Campo's beach is made up of numerous equipped and free stretches, but they're always perfectly clean and well-kept. Along the entire coastline, there are equipped bathrooms, clubs, bars, and restaurants right by the sea, ideal for romantic candlelit dinners. Some beach resorts offer their large clientele particularly refined restaurants, while others opt for a more simple approach, still offering menus rich in traditional dishes and seafood specialties. The wonderful beach stretches for almost two kilometers and is one of the largest and most extensive on the entire island of Elba.
Services offered include boat and pedal boat rentals, a boat lane, a large car park, a diving school, a canoe, surfing, and sailing school, and numerous beach resorts. The shallow, transparent waters and golden sand make it one of the most popular places in the area. Relaxing and pleasant, where you can enjoy the sun's rays and the gentle movement of the waves for hours.
