A sandy beach with fantastic natural pools

Seccheto beach is included in the municipality of Campo nell'Elba and is located in a small bay on the southern side of the island of Elba. It extends for about 130 meters and reaches a maximum width of 40 meters. It stretches along what is commonly referred to as the Costa del Sole, a short distance from the more famous beaches of Cavoli and Fetovaia. It is protected by beautiful flat-surfaced cliffs, which in some places jut out into the sea. Seccheto beach is mostly made up of grainy sand, which in some places leaves room for large stones. This type of sand is a fairly common feature of the beaches overlooking the western part of the Elbe. Behind the beach, the imposing Monte Capanne rises, offering a panorama of great beauty and protecting this stretch of coast from all the winds blowing from the north. The narrow recess located immediately to the right of the beach is used for hauling small boats. Seccheto beach is particularly popular for its tranquility and is perfect for couples and families with children. It is easily accessible and is located a few dozen meters from the village behind it, making it perfect for anyone who lives on site or for those who want to have the services available in the village. The flat granite cliffs surrounding the beach are perfect for those who want to relax and enjoy the sun's rays. Some of these scenic granite slabs called Le Calle descend to the sea, giving rise to comfortable, sheltered loops, perfect for diving into the water.
On the opposite side of the beach, however, immediately after the boat launch, stand the so-called Piscine, a series of flat-surfaced rocks, sometimes carved into them, which, filling with water, create true natural pools. Seccheto beach is particularly suitable on days when north-westerly winds blow, such as north wind, north wind, north wind, west wind, and west wind. A short distance from the sea is a beach resort equipped with a bar and where you can rent deckchairs and umbrellas. Nearby, there are also some restaurants perfect for those who plan to spend the whole day at the beach.

How to get to the beach

Seccheto beach is located right next to the town and is easily accessible by car. In summer, the Elba Island transport service offers tourists and locals numerous buses and shuttles that stop on site. Seccheto is located about 6 kilometers from its municipality, Marina di Campo, and is perfectly connected to neighboring towns by public transport. The most famous beaches in the area, Fetovaia and Cavoli, are just under two kilometers and less than one kilometer away respectively. The island capital Portoferraio, on the other hand, is about 22 kilometers away. To reach the beach starting from Portoferraio, take provincial road 24 towards Procchio, then merge onto provincial road 25 and follow the signs for Marina di Campo. Once you reach Marina di Campo, continue on the same road towards Cavoli-Seccheto-Pomonte. Those who reach the area by car can easily park in the squares bordering the road and reach the beach on foot, given the parking difficulties encountered especially during the summer, when the town is very popular for its beauty.
