A beach surrounded by nature
Sant'Andrea is a small inlet on the northwest coast of the island of Elba. Given its exposure, it is particularly recommended when blowing the Libeccio, the Mezzogiorno and the Sirocco. The beach is 150 metres long and 10 metres deep. It is composed of fine golden sand and granite cliffs close to a clear, turquoise sea, ideal for relaxing while sunbathing. On the right side of the cove, the rocks create a sort of natural pool, perfect for children to play in. As an added value to this beautiful beach there is the lush vegetation of the Mediterranean scrub that overlooks the cove, giving a feeling of wild and unspoiled nature. Furthermore, between April and October the granite cliffs surrounding the beach offer an extraordinary spectacle, thanks to the flowering of Hottentot figs, which give the rocks a vibrant fuchsia color. The beach also offers various services: bar, restaurant, sun lounger rental, umbrellas and pedal boats. There is also a parking lot, with a small free section and a larger one for a fee. As one of the most famous beaches on the entire island, it is always quite crowded during the high season, in fact many people choose to settle on the cliff instead of the sand. Sant'Andrea is undoubtedly the perfect location for those who want to dedicate themselves to diving, snorkeling and boat trips. In addition, the sandy bottom and natural pool make the beach the ideal destination for families with children.
In the vicinity of Sant'Andrea beach
Undoubtedly the main attraction of this area is nature, characterized not only by beautiful beaches, but also by green hills and mountains. There are numerous bays throughout the Capo Sant'Andrea area, some of which are accessible only by sea. By following the path that starts from the left side of the beach, you can easily reach the nearby Cotoncello beach, which is small but very pretty. Surely this part of the island of Elba is suitable for those looking for a relaxing holiday and close contact with nature. The municipality of Marciana, in fact, is a small village with ancient Etruscan origins that stands on the slopes of Mount Capanne. Despite being the smallest town on the entire island, it is a place rich in history, as well as a famous tourist destination and with a long winemaking tradition. There are also several bars and restaurants where you can enjoy the delicious local cuisine.
