Main features of the beach
Norsi beach, in the municipality of Capoliveri, is located in the southern part of the island and, precisely, in the Golfo Stella. The coastline, a typical example of the dark beaches that distinguish the southern part of the island of Elba, is exposed to winds from the south and can benefit from good exposure even during the months with cooler temperatures. The beach as a whole is quite long (more or less 400 metres) and is divided by some large boulders that reach almost the shoreline from the beginning of the beach. As already mentioned, the composition of the sand is predominantly dark in colour: in fact, sand mixed with small black pebbles alternates. Entry into the water is, in most cases, quite easy as the sand rapidly degrades towards the sea. However, there are some areas where there are larger boulders and rocks that stand out right near the shore and make it more difficult to enter the water. It is therefore suggested to equip yourself with rubber rock shoes to avoid the risk of cutting yourself with sharp rocks. Obviously, this side of the beach is not recommended when going to the beach with children, preferring the sandy part of the coast for their safety. One feature that makes Norsi beach very special is its wild nature made so by the thick vegetation, in typical Mediterranean style, that develops up to the beach. The services offered, however, are not many: during the summer months there are two bars. You can also go to a small beach resort to rent umbrellas and deckchairs.

How to get to the beach
To reach Norsi beach, take the road that connects Portoferraio to Capoliveri-Porto Azzurro. Once you reach a certain point you then have to turn towards Lacona. At this point you can take two alternative roads: the first is located approximately six hundred meters from the aforementioned junction for Lacona, turning left as soon as the sign for Norsi appears. It is worth noting the presence of a small number of parking spaces both along this dirt road and at the two paths leading down to the beach. Once parked, as mentioned, you can choose between two paths; the first on the right will be narrow and feature a few steps and short, steep sections, while the path on the left will be much easier, allowing those who, for example, need to drive strollers to reach the beach comfortably. It should also be noted that during the summer, parking fines are very frequent for cars that park in such a way as to make it impossible or extremely difficult for vehicles to circulate on this stretch of trail. The second access route to Norsi Beach is reached by continuing along the main road, reaching the top of Golfo Stella; from here, two more dirt paths wind that reach both Norsi and Acquarilli beaches. Here too, the presence of few parking spaces is noted. Finally, you can also reach Norsi beach by minibus that departs from the town of Capoliveri every day during the summer months.
