Margidore Beach: where it is located
On the island of Elba, at the foot of the splendid Capo Stella hill, lies one of the beaches most beloved by tourists for its exposure and beauty of its landscape: just a glance at Margidore is enough to fall in love with its turquoise water, which offers glimpses of the evocative seabed. With a full 700 meters of extension and a limited tourist influx even during the high season, this beach represents the perfect compromise between the presence of dedicated services for travellers and a quiet and secluded atmosphere. Almost completely free - except for a small section hosting a restaurant - Margidore beach is characterised by a rocky seabed that gives it an orderly appearance and contributes to the transparency of the seabed.
What to do in Margidore
A day at Margidore beach can be dedicated to absolute relaxation. Very close to the more renowned seaside resort of Lacona, in fact, Margidore offers large, uncrowded spaces that will be ideal for spending long hours of tranquility, even in the company of children. In the case of travelling in the company of the little ones, however, special attention will have to be paid to the seabed: very deep already a few metres after the shore, they could pose a danger. The bathing services offered include the rental of umbrellas, sun loungers, pedal boats and small boats with which it will be possible to explore the coast in complete tranquility. Furthermore, by renting one of these vehicles, it will be possible to travel to the adjacent Capo Pini cove, a small hidden gem accessible only by sea that will offer its evocative seabed to snorkeling and diving enthusiasts.
How to get to the beach
Getting to Margidore beach will be extremely easy thanks to the excellent network of road connections that runs throughout the island of Elba in a widespread manner. From the municipality of Capoliveri, it will be possible to take the coastal road that leads to the only access, located just before the Capostella Peninsula, which separates the beach from the nearby seaside resort of Lacona. Traveling by car is therefore not a problem, because the road is perfectly passable up to the beach. The problem of no parking, on the other hand, can be easily solved by placing the car along the road or near the nearby intersection. Finally, during the summer season, it will be possible to reach Margidore and all the other main beaches on the island via a convenient bus service, which, starting from the towns, travel along the coastal roads and are a safe means of transport for tourists and non-tourists alike.
