Speaking of the fantastic beaches of Rio Marina, one cannot forget that of the Torre degli Appiani. So called because it is located just below the aforementioned tower, known as the clock tower. Here, in fact, in a very ancient time the boat work of the iron that was extracted in the nearby mines took place. The bottom of this beach is mainly composed of a medium-fine gravel: all the stones are smoothed by the sea water. Light-colored sand is joined by slightly dark sand. Near the beach you can find a wide range of services and venues, such as shops, restaurants and bars.
