Living or discovering an island, whatever it is, is always a magical and fascinating experience, somehow different from the others.
The island is a reality in itself, like a hidden and new world nestled in the mysterious emerald of water.
It is a piece of land that has emerged and imposed itself in the fluid wilderness and that has challenged nature to live in the air and be kissed by the sunlight.
Among the most beautiful and well-known islands in Italy, I cannot fail to mention the beautiful Elba Island, located in the Tuscan Archipelago National Park, about ten kilometers from the coast and which has a history made famous by the heartbreaking exile of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte in 1814.
The island of Elba is dotted with picturesque and wonderful beaches.

Innamorata Beach: where does the name come from?
Every year, Innamorata beach serves as a location for the evocative reenactment of the so-called legend of the two lovers.
On July 14th, a magical torchlight procession was organized, consisting of around a hundred extras dressed in real sixteenth-century-style clothes.
Legend tells of two very young lovers Lorenzo and Maria who, in 1534, were eager to get married.
Shortly before the wedding, Lorenzo was kidnapped by Frederick Barbarossa's fearsome pirates. Maria, in a vain attempt to bring him back to shore, was overwhelmed by the rough waves of the sea that made her disappear into the dark seabed and never allowed her to emerge.
The only concrete memory that remained of his presence was his scarf, which gently returned to the surface and rested on a rock.
It was precisely this sad legend that gave the name of the Innamorata to the beach, in honor of the courageous bride who passed away.
We also find references to the protagonist of the story in the name given to the promontory of Punta delle Ciarpe, scarves in Tuscan dialect, which tradition holds to be the very rock where Mary's scarf was found.
